Another year has come and gone; along the way Buckeye Music Magazine has featured some great bands, photographers, and promoters as our Artist of the Month. To begin the New Year we wanted to put the spotlight on a Hometown band that is making heads turn on the Ohio music scene. Buckeye Music Magazine is proud to announce the first Artist of the Month recipient of 2014, Middletown’s TO NO END. Frontman Nick Dellaposta (Guitar, Vocals) assembled a great line-up of seasoned musicians that include Eli Booth (Bass), Grant Evans (Guitar, Vocals), and Patrick Lanham (Drums, Percussion). TO NO END got its start in 2012 and these guys hit the ground running taking their talent into the studio to begin work on their debut CD and playing their first gig in June of the same year.

If the name Dellaposta sounds familiar it’s because Nick is the son of local Blues legend Bob Dellaposta who has been a part Nick_Dellaposta.pngof the Dayton/Cincinnati Blues scene for over 20 years. Nick has been honing his guitar and songwriting skills since the age of fourteen so it’s no surprise that Dellaposta came into the studio armed with plenty of great tunes for the band’s debut CD called “Curio” released in January of 2013. The band weaves together influences from a number of genres and the full length album contains twelve gems that highlight the bands signature sound. The CD has a little something for everyone from the Rock sounds of the tuneTO_NO_END-Curio.png “Whose Side Are You On”, the Country Rock sound of “Tie Up Your Loose Ends”, or the Bluesy sound of “Got the Fire Started”, “Curio” is a welcome addition to any music collection. The band went all out for the video that accompanies the single “Somethin’ Wrong With You” and features Shannon Mary Dixon (Hughes the Force, Dead Grandma) and a special guest appearance by actor Jason Mewes (Clerks, Mallrats, Jay and Silent Bob’s Super Groovy Cartoon Movie). In September of 2013 TO NO END was the featured artist on ReverbNation for the song “Idle Hands”, evidence that these guys are for real.

As you can see 2013 was a big year for TO NO END but don’t think for a minute that these guys are ready to slow down. TO_NO_END_Band_Pic3.jpgThe band steamrolls into the New Year with a new album and tour that will bring TO NO END to a venue near you. The CD titled “Peril & Paracosm” is due for release this month and believe me when I say Dellaposta and company came out swingin with this one. The first tune on the album called “The Afterlife” highlights Dellaposta’s Ax skills in a BIG way and begins with a heavy little riff that will get the blood flowing. The Grunge sound of tunes like “Bad Apple” and “Lay Awake and Dream” proves once more that these guys are genre bending chameleons giving them the freedom to explore a number of the band’s musical passions. One of my favorites from “Peril & Paracosm” is the haunting Blues sound of the tune “Heavy Rain” where Dellaposta just lets loose on Guitar and features Grant Evans on Vocals. The much anticipate CD features eleven tunes in all and is a must have for 2014.

The band takes their show on the road in January with their Peril & Paracosm Tour. First up is an appearance in theTO_NO_END_and_TONAL_CARAVAN.jpg studios of WYSO 91.3 January 8 for a live performance and sneak peek of the new album. The Peril & Paracosm Tour takes the band across the Buckeye State beginning at Dayton’s Blind Bob’s Bar January 10 followed by stops at Buzzbin Art & Music Shop in Canton Friday, January 17, Cincinnati’s Molly Malones Saturday, January 18, and on Friday, January 24 Buckeye Music Magazine welcomes TO NO END to Middletown’s Old Crow Bar with special guest Tonal Caravan. 2014 is shaping up to be the best year yet for music in the Buckeye State and with groups like TO NO END carrying the torch, the Ohio music scene is in good hands.
